Hockey Stick pick-up will be Wednesday, September 26, from 6-7:30 PM at the Lakeview Arena – there will also be an informational parents meeting at this time. More Information will be e-mailed to you and will also be available on our website. This is not a skating session.

The program begins Wednesday, Oct. 3, and runs through Wednesday, February 27, 2013. The program will not meet on the following days:

Wednesday, October 31 (Halloween)

Wednesday, December 26 (Conflict with High School Game)

Saturday, February 16 (Figure skating competition)

All parents, coaches and on-ice helpers, if you participate on-ice, our insurance carrier requires that you wear hockey skates and a helmet. You must also register online with USA Hockey, complete an online Mite Level instructional module and fill out a form for background screening.

The Skill Development Program is for boys and girls of all ages and is designed for beginning hockey players who want to learn the basics of the game. The players should know skating basics.  Skill Development focuses on improving skating skills, stick-handling, and positioning.  We usually have cross-ice scrimmage games as the season progresses.

Our goal is to teach hockey skills and improve skating so that in the player’s second year of skating they may progress in the Marquette Junior Hockey program.

Mandatory Equipment for Hockey Programs:
  • Helmet
  • Breezers (hockey pants)
  • Gloves
  • Elbow & Shin Pads
  • Skates
  • Stick
